The Highlands & Islands Music & Dance Festival is held at the end of Apr/beginning of May.
At the beginning of Jun is the Oban Mod, and at the beginning of Aug it's the Lorn Agricultural Show.
The Argyllshire Gathering (Oban Games) is held at the end of Aug in Mossfield Park.
Sport

Diving: Puffin Dive Centre, Gallanach Port, Gallanach Rd, Tel. 566088. Diver training centre and facilities (open 0800-2000).
Fishing: Excellent trout and coarse fishing on Loch Awe and Avich. Permits and boat hire from The Angler's Corner, 114 George St, Tel. 566374. Open Mon-Sat 0930-1700, Sun 1000-1500.
Golf: Glencruitten Golf Club, Tel. 562868/564115, is an 18-hole course on the edge of town.
