Top 10 UK Beach and at the end of a lovely drive to the far south of Harris. Well worth it in any weather!
Luskentyre was voted Britain's best beach which is not ideal as it makes it something of a draw. But, this is Harris and in truth not many people ever make it to the island so crowded it is not. There are no facilities which is a plus and on a sunny day, it is truly paradise.
Closest place for supplies and grub is Leverburgh which has The Anchorage and the Butty Bus near the Harbour. The Butty bus is actually a small bus turned tea stall (T: 07899 786574)
Travel Directions to Luskentyre Beach
Follow sign from A859 for Luskentyre (spelt Lasgintir) and drive to end of the road where there is a small car park and charming little hillside cemetary.
