Customer Reviews of The Pines, Mauchline, by Ayr, sleeps 6
st comment: The property is in a stunning location on the river. It is a very tranquil, calming and peaceful spot. The accommodation was comfortable and very secure for dogs. Lovely welcome from Nick and Linda. March 2012.
nd comment: The location of the Pines is amazing for nature and countryside lovers. The riverside walks from the cottage are relaxing and peaceful. The cottage was spotless and a real home from home. I’d definitely recommend a visit! Feb 2012.
rd comment: This was the perfect location for a quiet holiday. We were close enough to amenities but far enough away from everything to feel private. The cottage was beautiful work all mod cons including wi-do and a Sky HD package. The views of the river were wonderful. Feb 2012.
th comment: Very pleasant accommodation, nicely situated and well managed. Jan 2012.
th comment: The holiday was just what was needed. The accommodation overlooking the river Ayr was just so relaxing and the amount of private land that was available for walking alongside the river, was wonderful. You would never believe you were so close to civilization with only herons, ducks, cormorants & squirrels visiting. Spacious and well catered for, although we would have liked a bbq. Sept 2011.
th comment: Really peaceful location, if you are looking to just chill out this is the place to stay. Good pub 50 yards away serving excellent food. Locals really friendly. Cottage also has its own private woodland, excellent for letting dogs off lead (however steep in some places). Cottage is well equipped. Looking to book again for next year. June 2011.
th comment: Within easy reach of Ayr. Watch visiting Heron, Woodpecker etc, from the Lounge overlooking the river. The coast road from Ayr to Port Patrick gives spectacular views to Island of Arran and Ailsa Craig. The Mull of Galloway, the most southerly point in Scotland is also worth a visit, with its Lighthouse,Restaurant and RSPB Exhibition. Whether seeking a property to spend most of the Holiday in or around, or a base to tour the Ayr coast from The Pines fits the bill! June 2011.
th comment: Excellent hosts and lovely welcome basket on arrival. The location is perfect for travelling around the coast as well as accessing Glasgow, Stirling and Kilmarnock. Pub is literally next door which is very welcoming and provides great food. All in all an excellent place to visit. One of the best we have visited in the 9 years we have been using you. Thank you. May 2011.
th comment: Beautiful property, great location for local walks, Failford Inn next door a bonus. Dogs really well catered for. Indoor cage, outside kennel, enclosed garden and towels supplied, also baby gate on 3 stairs leading to living area again a bonus due to one of the dogs being blind. Linda and Neil very helpful and friendly but not intrusive, welcome basket a lovely touch . Great holiday had by all ages 62 to 1 year. April 2011.
th comment: Lovely location next to the river Ayr. Local pub was just a short walk away and the locals were friendly. Also very handy for bus stop if required. March 2011.
th Comment The accommodation was well presented and exactly as described. There was also so much more to the property which wasn’t described - i.e. personal walking area, enclosed garden for dogs, kennels for dogs. Feb 2011.
th Comment I was a little dubious about booking a cottage over the internet, I take it all back what can I say it was beautiful, very clean and the interior was lovely very tastefully decorated, with views over the river. I think what made the week for us were the owners who were very accommodating nothing was too much trouble and we even had a welcome basket with food and wine, such a lovely touch. We had an excellent week and even though the weather wasnt that brilliant, with walks by the river either side of the cottage and Ayr 10 mins away we found plenty to do. Failford inn which is literally 30 seconds walk from the cottage is a must lovely people with lovely food. We’ll definitely be booking again. Oct 2010.
